It's not hard to connect the dots,my guess is everyone was told to be quiet.

But konoha 11 still don't seem to know.

Even when minato arrived on the battlefield and Naruto was calling him dad and minato was calling him son, Sakura was still asking who he was.

1. Most of the adults knew who he was

2. Trying to hide it was pointless, Hiruzen simply didn't want anyone talking about it. So the kids won't grow hatred towards Naruto, and thus giving naruto a fair chance to develop. But you know how some adults can be spreading hatred on to the children.

3. It affects Naruto himself.

4. Everyone hated Naruto either way.

there's a difference between waging an war on a hokage and thus the village or wanting to kill one guy.

Its like how Scar from FMA wanted to kill King Bradley for the slaughter of his people. I don't see how anyone would not want assassinate Hiruzen and it was shown that these they people do exist.

I just kept on hearing that it was because Minato had enemies. Though that answer makes the villagers look like ungrateful asses for treating the son of their savior as shit.

I think it was a load of shit, when he arrived at the war there was NO ill feelings from anyone.

That is why this war is bullshit. The villages hold no grudges at all

If that was the only reason, Hiruzen wouldn't have changed his name

Hiruzen was not in his prime during the Third War. It was 12 years before part 1 started which would put Hiruzen at 58.

Also, people did fear Hiruzen. Hanzo spared the Sannin all in fear of Prime Hiruzen.

THIS!

Also, anyone surprised that Akatsuki didn't attack Konoha until The Allmighty Hiruzen decided to go on a break?

It does.. that was the whole point, despite being the savior's son, he was still hated because he had the demon inside of him.

If that was the only reason, Hiruzen wouldn't have changed his name

He didn't change his name.
