Did Gai take off his weights when he went 8 gates?

It never showed him taking off his weights, that means when he nearly soloed Madara, he still wasn't at full power!

So technically, 8 gates Gai is stronger than even the sage of Six Paths! His power and speed would increase exponentially if he had taken off his weights!

What does NB think? Is Gai the true Solo King?
