Although they were not blood related, Ace looked remarkably like his foster brother, Luffy. However, Ace was more serious looking than Luffy's lighthearted design, and was also slightly taller and more muscular. He also sported rather childish freckles (inherited from his mother), and tended to make an incredulous facial expression by raising his left eyebrow.
Ace's tattoos were among his most remarkable, trademark features. He had a tattoo on his back - purple bones formed in a cross behind a purple skull with a white mustache — that he described as his pride and joy. Ace had another tattoo on his upper left bicep that spells "ASCE" vertically.
Ace wore an open-front shirt until he received tattoo - afterwards, he stopped wearing anything over his upper body except when on winter islands. He wore black boots, black knee-length shorts with an eyelet-studded orange belt, and a blue pouch belted around his left leg. He also wore a short second belt with a large red "A" on the silver buckle over his right hip, but left it unfastened and threaded the free end along the back of his shorts. A dagger in a green sheath hung at his left hip. On Ace's left arm, he wore a Log Pose and a red and white striped bracelet around his wrist, an orange elbow guard, and his "ASCE" tattoo. He wore a red beaded necklace and an orange hat with two blue smileys, one frowning and one smiling, and a string of red beads sitting above the rim. Two long orange side straps hung down sides of his hat and met at a large medallion of a bull's skull with orange tassels. He also has his trademark hat which he had received from a famous ninja for showcasing his bravery.

Ace was much more intelligent, polite, and generally more bearable than Luffy. Ace liked to party as much as he could. Whenever he went to party, he would first go to food and then deal with other things which he had to.
There were two running gags about Ace. The first was his rather extreme narcolepsy. He tended to randomly fall asleep while eating and conversing, leaving strangers around him wondering if he had died. The second was that he did a "dine and dash" routine wherever he went. Ace was actually very rude to many number of people but started to become polite after he became a part of Konohagakure.
Ace had a tendency to never back down from a fight, saying that he would never run once facing an enemy. Because of this, some people believed that Ace had a death wish, but in truth he wanted to prevent people he cared for from getting hurt. While Ace emerged victorious over enemies he refused to run from, his stubbornness hurt him on a number of occasions.Ace was also easily provoked by and became violent towards anyone who insulted or harmed people close to him. Ace's temper got better of him when he went through some training sessions in order to control his temper in Konoha.

Portgas D. Ace was born to a poor family in the slums of Sunagakure. His father was a well known ninja but he could not see him as he was executed by some other ninja of a village. After Ace was born, his mother died due to the lack of hospital facilities she got and due to that, Ace was adopted by an unknown person as his son. He soon grew with him but he had no idea on who his real father was. That unknown person being strong, taught all of the things he knew to Ace in order for him to protect himself from any danger he might face. He soon got his signature tattoo on his back which resembled pride and joy in his mind. He was sent on several missions just so that he can improve his skills, because of this, Ace gained the tendency to kill anyone if loses his temper. He can turn cold hearted and kill even his own friend as if he was nothing but trash. One day, he got so angry that he killed that man and in disgust, left the village and started heading towards Konohagakure which he heard that time as very powerful and helpful. Upon reaching there, he went to some random restaurant and ordered some food. When he got it, he started eating wildly and suddenly fell on the desk as if he was dead. Many people started to gather there thinking that Ace was dead and he created a commotion that one of the ninjas came to the restaurant to find out the real truth. Suddenly, Ace came back to life and stared at the Konoha ninja and asked him to take him to the Hokage. Upon reaching there, Ace was inquired after some time of talking, was eventually accepted into the Konoha clan and received intense training to control his temper and sudden bursts of cold heartedness.
Ace quickly got out of his bad things and started serving Konohagakure with full loyalty. One day, when he was simply sitting in the ground with nothing to do. Ace started fiddling with fire and wind elements in both of his hands and suddenly a intense fire was created which started to evaporate the entire water surrounding him while the heat started to increase at an amazing rate. This made Ace find his new ability but he had no control over it so he has to look for some person who does know how to use it.

Fire Specialty
The reason that Ace was know as "Fire Fist Ace" was due to his proficiency in the Fire element. To achieve this kind of level, Ace trained in it all day and night and due to this amount of hard work, he achieved the perk to perform all the fire techniques in existent with a single hand seal enabling him a greater advantage over another average ninja.
Wind Affinity
Wind is the secondary specialty which Ace possess as this is one of the two required element to create a new element (Kekkai Genkai) known as Scorch. Due to this, Ace can perform all wind techniques with a faster rate of hand seal than an average shinobi offering him more advantage amidst battles.
Scorch Release
The Scorch Release is a advanced chakra nature Kekkai Genkai Ability that is from the Land of Wind. It is presumably compramised from the two basic elemental natures of fire and wind. This nature creates chakra that is capable of heating up an enemy to the point where it can evapourate water from their body. It has been shown to be manipulated by a renound ninja of her time Pakura in the form of multiple orbs of energy that spin around her and at her will are sent at her opponent to evapourate water from their bodies. It is presumed this Kekkai Genkai natured element can be manipulated in other various ways such as flames or burning waves of energy. It could even evapourate moisture from mud and turn it into clay these are some variable possibilities of using this element.
A ability which is yet to be learnt by Ace, after realizing the new power he found, Ace goes in search of a Scorch sensei so that he can take better control of that ability and use it against his opponents effectively.
