Till the Day I Die

Till the day I die, I’ll always be there to make you happy,
even on the days where I feel absolutely crappy,
but just because I’m the one who’s always down,
doesn’t mean I’ll let you go a day with that frown.

I’ll lend you a shoulder to cry on, and a heart to connect with,
and with that, I shall hold myself to this promise forwith,
and forever be at your side, at times when you need me,
or at times when you just need company, so you can silently dream.

The best thing about poetry is the freedom that it gives writers. The ability to put things to paper in ways conventional forms of writing does not allow, and thus we can do whatever we wish with what we write. I thank you for the advice, I know you were only trying to help.
