I don't see how it is one-dimensional. It's not like Naruto is restricted to only fighting in close combat or whatever. I would considered taijutsu specialist that lack a ranged move one-dimensional, and possibly puppeteers since they lack close combat skills. Maybe I'm thinking of one-dimensional differently...

Of course a Taijutsu specialist like Lee and Gai are one-dimensional, but considering Naruto's taijutsu is only enhanced by frog kata and bijuu prescence (otherwise he can kiss his ass goodbye against a taijutsu specialist) and has never performed any major genjutsu. Taking his battles and techniques into consideration he's borderline one-dimensional.

How though? Not many people in the series have a huge move pool, if that is your reasoning behind Naruto being one-dimensional. I consider a character one dimensional when they're restricted to fight in a certain scenario. Hashirama for instance has mainly used wood release, although he has like 4 attacks that don't use wood release.

This is ridiculous and a backhand sleight that you know is full of shit.

Naruto is one of the most diversified and adaptable shinobi who excels in combat, sensing, healing, senjutsu, kenjutsu, fuinjutsu, tracking, ninjutsu, and taijutsu while Sasuke has 3 attacks: Chidori, Susano, Amaterasu. And his Substitution if you count that thing.

Naruto blows Sasuke out of the water not only in power, but in flexibility and versatility. It's not even a contest.

Naruto could master any none kkg ninjutsu simply with his learning technique using clones. The difference is the level of the techniques he has learned and his ability to create copies of himself that can also use incredibly high level techniques on par with the original. In a sense there is no need to learn to fight using a weapon when your chakra itself is a far more efficient tool.
