Nah, I don't think Kamui is a line of sight jutsu like Amaterasu. From what we've seen, Kakashi pretty much makes it appear where he wants to. You couldn't simply block it like Gaara's sand did to Amaterasu

No, Kakashi has to concentrate on his target with his eye(s), its a much slower version of Ametarasu. This has been stressed ever since Kamui was first introduced.

whoooooaaaaa!!! slow down, U lost me partner. a tactical dojutsu is a tactical dojutsu

I'd have disagree again...

Hahahah!! Sorry I'm a talker not a typer!

Ok. Like this.

Let's say K-man is standing in an open field

There are two targets back to back facing directly in front of him.

Target A and Target B

If he wanted to warp away target B

He wouldn't need to warp away target A first just because it's in the way of B.

Soooo I'm saying just cuz there's rocks in the way of the central mass of CT doesn't mean he won't be able to hit the actual CT

Amaterasu doesn't work like that. It's a "line of sight jutsu"

If Sasuke was also in that field facing Target A and B

He would need to burn down target A first because it's in the way of B.

hmmm tough question but id think so since kamui's actual warping point is rather small compared to a real wormhole so it wouldn't take an impossibly strong gravity to tear it apart

by that i mean imagine kamui's spiral like effect hitting the CT black orb as soon as it got close id imagine it would get twisted and turned in multiple directions till it couldn't handle the stress and sorta rip and burst like a balloon

but that's assuming kamui is a wormhole like jutsu and that its mechanics are the same. which i doubt.

It's ok to doubt this is all speculation and we're using my presupposition it's a wormhole.

That could happen I agree. What do you think would happen if RIGHT when Pain let go of that black orb if Kakashi Kamui'd dead center onto it. And swallowed the whole thing. Would it be done and gone? Or it simply wouldn't fit because the gravity is just too much?

It's faster than Amaterasu so I don't know what you're talking about.

What makes you come to this conclusion?
Both techniques spawn where the user is focusing their eyesight.

I'm sorry, but that is the most gratuitously arbitrary thing I've ever read on the matter.

Kamui relies on sight, therefore sightline must be obscured.
kamui doesn't ''travel'' but it doesn't ''penetrate'' either...U do the math...

See with Amaterasu, all the caster has too do is look at the target (This more so apply's to Sasuke, Itachi has a slower method of using it). With Kamui, the caster has too actually aim where they want the barrier too form, wait until the thing they are wrapping is centered with the barrier (If they want too be accurate) and then release the trigger.

Lee has shown double the speed of this process, he would be capable of dodging Kamui. However Lee would not be capable of dodging Amaterasu.

if CT is in fact a super dense mass the second its released then ct would stop the kamui but if CT takes time (makes no sense but still plausible) for it to become super dense then kamui would work on it but it wouldn't destroy it just send it somewhere else that would then feel the effects.

That would pretty much make it nearly impossible to hit high speed projectiles, such as Sasuke's arrows. It would be more like they have to aim, like you said, and release the trigger AKA execute the Jutsu.

I don't think so at all! He needs to see what he's warping away, obviously because if not, he'll miss.

However so you're saying he couldn't work around an obstacle?

What if a 2 inch beam was directly in front of him? You're saying he couldn't Kamui anything behind the beam without getting rid of the beam first.

Amaterasu is like that. Whatever the user sees is burnt away. If a 2 inch beam was in front of Sasuke he would need to burn it down to burn down what's behind it

I'm saying there's a difference to how these Justus's are used.

Ama is direct.
Kamui can work around obstacles

Look at when chouji was running away from Pain's missile. Kakashi sniped it from faaar away. And he wasn't directly in front of it. Chouji jumped down some debris, the missile followed him, AND Kakashi stil sniped it

No, because Sasuke's arrow is right in front of his eyes, he can basically just skip the first two steps and aimlessly use Kamui and he will still succeed due to its thin size. Keep in mind that centering the barrier is not a requirment, it just allows the Kamui too be more successful. Either way, even with just two steps, its still slower then Ametarasu.

I would think that given the fact that Obito couldn't use Kamui in time, it would be a given. And Obito's Kamui is faster then Kakashi's.

heres my answer:

close your LEFT your eye, stick out your pinky finger, then look at your computer screen with the Right eye while the LEFT is still closed.

did U do it properly?...

Nah. You're just either digging your heels in the ground or you don't understand me.

So Kakashi must have an absolutely clear line of sight in order to use Kamui? Nope. Does it make it easier to hit the target? Yup

But I think regardless of what's in front of him, he can make the portal manifest whenever he wants.

I'm not disputing hitting the target - warping either the left or right side of my screen on one side of my finger, rather, if I want to warp my entire screen, I need clear sightline(so that I wont warp my finger instead)

you aren't acknowledging the precision required 4 the dojutsu, nobody is saying the jutsu wont fire

edit: said another way, kamui doesn't react to a target, no.
its the sharingan that reacts to the visual environment, if that helps any

That second part actually makes a lot of sense lol. So you agree with what that guy said earlier?

About rocks being in the way so he couldn't snipe the CT?

of course, lol!! did U do the pinky test? im serious(even tho im grinning like a troll atm)

if a object in closer proximity obscures any part or the ''core'' then a warp would fail & warp that object/rock instead(or the warp portal would just stall by loss of concentration)

Kamui has no limits. One can even come back from purgatory as proven by obito. So yes kamui > ct

Besides having a Bijuu handy or a Susano'o you can create what other jutsu can counter the deadly CHIBAKU TENSEI?

Answer- Kamui.

If Kakashi were to snipe CT while it was still just the black orb or small, (he can absorb the entire dang Hachibi)

Then arguably Pain's most devastating jutsu would be done away with.

Also! Kakashi would use considerably less chakra to blow away CT then Nagato would use to create one.

Thoughts??

(I literally can't think of a better counter.. Besides Naruto and Sasuke fodderizing it! Ha!)

You must be registered for see images

He had kurama chakra, that's the only reason he was able to do that.

The fuq??? Kakashi needs to be able to clearly see CT to be able to snipe it. how is he sniping something that just gets bigger? How does he snipe something so large in time? How is he having enough Stamina to snipe it? This thread is a joke!XDXDXDXDXD
