Lol after the Gaara rescue arc there was a Sasuke rescue arc funny thing is Sasuke's name comes up in nearly every arc he's not in

That's my point. Getting Sasuke back is part of the main plot. When Naruto takes a break we get a Sasuke story. He is just as important as Naruto right now. Some people are over looking that because he has not done anything in this war.

sasuke's search ( two arc in early shippuden)

naruto's character development ( still actual )

breaking cycle of hatred /changing ninja system ( post pain arc)... as you see sasuke was really important for main plot only in two arcs.
