It's obvious that Sasuke is getting treated poorly, perhaps its for a reason that im missing out? Hopefully, Kishimoto can give us an indication as to why he's been nerfing Sasuke and making him look rather weak. Some people have said its karma, but i say there should a better reason.


Seeing Sasuke having drawbacks on his techniques, unlike Naruto, is actually frustrating. Naruto is basically a walking Jesus, while Sasuke gets 2nd hand-given powers that are being quite ineffective and most of all having lots of inconsistencies. I guess that i have the right to say Naruto=Sasuke, since it came out of Kishimoto himself. But wouldn't that upset you? I bet you would call me insane for making such a preposterous statement. Such as Howling Fox, Sasky is fodder and you don't know what you're posting. I can see it happen, but alas i won't give a single ****. In my opinion, Kishimoto should make Naruto vulnerable at some point in the fight as well. At least showing that he's limited to his power, because he's Naruto! I'm tired of seeing Kaguya destroying Sasuke every chance, unlike Naruto.

So in summary the manga isn't progressing in the way you expected and that annoys you. More specifically characters that you assumed to be stronger do not live up to your expectations. Lets face it the manga is at its climax and Kishi has to start tying up loose ends and nailing down common themes. We've seen this against Kaguya when Naruto has used nostalgic techniques and through the portrayal of Obito reconfirming Naruto's childhood ideals of being hokage. Kishi is trying to tie the storyline up so it comes full circle.

In your OP you pushed aside the notion that Sasuke isn't getting the karma treatment, when in fact thats what is happening and Kishi is doing it on purpose. This is a post I made in a separate thread on the subject.

Because Kishi is trying to portray an ideal that most people on this site don't get or understand. Think about what Kishi has been doing in the Kaguya fight. Sasuke has been bad mouthing everyone and saying they would be more useful in infinite tsukiyomi. He is only fighting for himself and is basically being selfish.

Now think about the event surrounding the other characters. Naruto is fighting for everyone, fighting with the tailed beasts and defending his friends. As a result he is actually fairing pretty good against Kaguya. Sakura used the power of her Yin seal to allow obito to cross multiple dimensions and in the process saved Sasuke from the desert dimension. Obito managed to sync with kaguya's dimensions, saved Sasuke, saved Naruto and saved Kakashi. Now Kakashi is fighting to protect everyone and the memory of Obito, he just ripped out a PS and has dual Kamui.

Notice the trend here? Everyone that is succeeding in this fight is fighting for other people or better yet fighting to protect people (it a Will of Fire thing). Sasuke won't succeed because he hasn't yet realised that the power of fighting to protect the people important you - a major theme in the manga. But people don't seem to get this because they are to busy with power ups and 'feats'.

People need to get it out of their heads that Naruto=Sasuke because Kishi said they progress as a pair. That was said about 4 years ago and things obviously change as does Kishi's opinions in his manga. Kishi once said Sasuke was his favourite character but it was later stated that he now thinks Chouji is his favourite (see things change). Naruto's ultimate goal is to surpass all previous hokage and become the strongest member of the fire nation. If Kishi is to fulfil this ideal then at some point Sasuke had to be surpassed. Its just that simple. He hasn't been 'nerfed' in fact he has been upgraded if anything by getting sharingan. But as I said above his ideals are the reason he is failing and at some point Naruto just has to be stronger.

This is already TL;DR worthy so I'll leave it there....
