War Arc Gaara vs Itachi

, and thought that this was a rather interesting and unique match up.

Who would win in a fight between these two? Itachi is in a healthy state; Meaning he won't hack up blood constantly. Gaara is how he was during the war arc's end, but obviously fresh.


The first battle takes place in the region of land where Deidara and Sasuke fought. The second, the Uchiha Hideout. Let's assume the distance is a safe, medium one. Forty or so meters.

Gaara knows of Itachi's hype; I.E. Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, et cetera.

Itachi was briefed by Deidara. So anything Deidara encountered, Itachi knows.


Who wins this fight?

Eh sad to say, but Gaara is a perfect counter to Itachi.
He could break the visual link and proceed to continuously assault Itachi with his sand.
Gaara, could sense Itachi via physically touching him with his sand, and whip him out of his Susano'o need be.
Gaara high diff.
Edit: Can Suiton saturate Gaara's sand? That could completely change the outcome

Gaara pulls Itachi out of his Susano'o before he can stab him. And Gaara can physically sense Itachi with sand particles, no need for eye contact.

how does totsuka oneshot something that is hovering hundreds of meters in the sky and is out of reach
