Why does Naruto need to be hokage anyway???

Its not about the goals or dreams. Its about the passion he has to run a village. He wants to be acknowledged by the village and be known as a hero. All his life people saw him as a monster. No one went by him or gave him any importance. He fought his way to the top to become the ninja he is. He wants to surpass every Hokage before him. He wants to bring peace to the world by being that important figure of his village. These dreams are big and can't be done by him sitting around at home. He has shown enough reasons to be a candidate for Hokage. The difference between him and Kakashi is that this boy actually wants it. So I am sure he will do the best he can once he gets it.

I personally think that after the war the villages will remain allied and keep their 5 kages but have like a shinobi alliance leader which i think will be Naruto as he is powerful enough and has the trust of all the villages through saving the shinobi world. Kishi probably wont do it but i think thats the position in which Naruto would be most effective

True but my point is these things wont become impossible if he isnt hokage. He is such a great ninja now he can just do it

Same can be said about Sasuke, he doesn't need to be Hokage for his goal. Naruto wants to be Hokage to be Hokage just like how a ninja might want to be a medic ninja to heal others or be in the Anbu to protect the village directly under the Hokage. The Hokage is someone who can put the village before themselves, their family, and friends; Naruto even told Sasuke if he attacks Konoha then they will fight back when they met up after the Kage summit. Naruto knows his dad put the village safety and future above his family by sacrificing his life to give Naruto Kurama which also maintains the power balance amongst the nations and giving Naruto power to fight the mask man.

Sasuke already showed that he couldn't put the village over his clan when he decided to destroy Konoha after learning the truth about Itachi; Obito said he gambled when he told Sasuke the truth because Sasuke could either decide to return to Konoha as a hero as Itachi wanted or decide to attack Konoha to avenger the pain Itachi suffered. Naruto admitted that he could have ended up like Gaara when he was evil or like Sasuke in part 1 and Shippuden but he didn't; a leader have to be strong enough to endure as Hashirama told Sasuke. Sasuke can probably handle it better now but his track record is against him for now so unless I see Sasuke change to be someone that can build bonds with other people, I don't see him obtaining peace.

Exactly this. Plus he is not very cooperative, I can see him thinking that he alone can bring peace just like Danzo thought.

Because he wants to bring peace to his nations. It was his dream for all time and he will see it through, he will make good on all the promises he's made and be the catalyst for the broken world that needs his help.

That would make sense. Plus he has all of the 9 tails in him. That alone would make him be needed in other villages.

Ok so he wants to be hokage why? I mean to me its just a dream he had as a child but does he have any goals he wants to achieve with that position? He's already acknowledged by his whole village and the shinobi he's proving he can adequately protect the shinobi as a genin so why the need to become hokage? To me Sasuke's reason is at least logical.. I'm not saying he should become hokage but he at least has an ambition to change the darker ways of the village so people dont suffer like Itachi did which is pretty cool. To me Naruto at this point with how strong he's become just wants to be a Kage for the sake of it for the sake of 'never going back on his word' which isnt good enough for a leader.. I'll repeat NARUTO IS A GENIN BUT IS ALREADY CAPABLE OF PROTECTING THE WHOLE WORLD WITHOUT KAGE TITLE.

So because he can protect the world, he shouldn't be given the seat but keep aside as a tool only to be used in the time of need?

What kind of logic is that? Hokage is the one who leads, that means he is able to make people want to follow him. Since when that seat is given only because of personal needs and reasons of the candidates?

lol Frankly maybe they should spar in the end to chose hokage. Poor Konohamaru is not going to have a chance any time soon.
