Righttttt so Naruto failed the academy exam 3 times but graduated for genin at the same time as Sasuke and Sakura?? Logical explanation is that he took it early but he was a 3rd rate loser back then a 'deadlast' they wouldnt allow him if anyone were to take it early it would be Sasuke because he was a 'genius' If Naruto truly was in the academy 3 years earlier why are there flashbacks of him with like kiba shikamaru etc and sparring with sasuke in irukas clasdlooking like hes 6-7 years old surely he wouldnt know these people if he was at the academy trying to become a genin 3 years earlier than them MINIMUM. Its not really important but man these details cant be missed like that.

Naruto took it multiple times.

Yeah the question is how is this possible. How could he take it three times and still be in the class he was in before he took it. If the rest of the class failed three times too, it wouldn't matter that Naruto did it, but it does.

The answer that he took earlier than the rest doesn't quite work because then he should have met Neji and Lee before the Chunin Exams, but he didn't.

The most logical conclusion is he did it earlier than the rest, but missed the year Neji and Lee were in the academy.

I was curious about this years ago but since its very minor detail,

I just assumed he took the exam multiple times within the same time period.

Most likely this or different classrooms ??? Wouldnt that mean Neji Lee nd Ten Ten are a tad older

Thats the point naruto wouldnt be able to take it earlier as he showed no promise as a ninja..
it doesn't matter tho. They have the ability to take it themselves ;p.

Plus, you have to remember he had no parents and etc, so i assume they'd just let him try. And he probably wanted to leave the place.
