I'm completely aware that this forum isn't the best place to ask, but whatever.

So, my problem is that I feel a pretty immense pain in my left shoulder whenever I attempt to do shoulder presses. :|
After my attempt of performing it my left shoulder hurts if I lift the arm too high... Is this serious?

This has been going on for a month or so, and I've been patiently waiting for it to heal.
Just a minute ago I did attempt it again, but the pain was still there. Although I did learn that if I don't let the dumbbell get that low it doesn't hurt that much.

I hope you people can understand my bad writing. :|

I think it's a bone problem because I have seen the exact symptoms. Go to a doctor ASAP.

I tore my left shoulder during football my senior year in high school. It never really healed correctly. I am permanently limited for strength in my shoulder. I find that doing shoulder presses on a smith machine is very beneficial. It takes some pressure off of it so I can actually lift. Dumbbells are the worst if you have shoulder pain

If its been going on for a month then perhaps its serious, but are you sure you are allwoing it to rest?
You need to rest for it to heal, you seem like someone working out alot, its possible you could have hurt a muscle.

well safety first
Maybe the point was that if someone here has had the same problem. :| Then they'd know what to do.

It costs. :|

Are you serious? :|

I actually gave up working out for two weeks because of this problem. I only did push ups like twice a week to test if it has healed enough or not.

Maybe I should go see a doctor then. Dang.

Try stretching and easy exercises, it helps sometimes.

P.S do you know such a thing as warm up before the exercises? It is really important, you know :)

If the pain is from the inside, from the Bone area, then it's a Bone Problem. Otherwise it's Muscle Sprain. But then again, I have never heard Muscle Sprains lasting for a month.

Actually it does feel like it's coming from the inside. Maybe it's a ligament or something? Or a tendon?

I have tried to massage it. Doesn't really help.

Warm ups are for pussies!

:| I do know that but it takes too much time.

Well, apparently I have caused this by my own stubbornness. :(

It is actually may be a Bone Loss disease.

The name is Osteoporis. Wiki Article :

The best cure for this is Ayurveda, a medicine branch in India. As, I said before, go to a doctor for a checkup.

I doubt it's osteoporosis. :| It usually comes to older women, while I'm a 21 years old guy. And It'd be weird that it would've only affected my left shoulder.

Maybe I should go get it checked by a doctor just to be sure of what it is.

Osteoporis actually happens to even 15-20 years old people nowadays. It can happen to anyone due to lifestyles (Excersing too much, not being active are both causes). The number one symptom for it is when you feel internal pain from the bones and it persists over a month.

But then again it'd be weird that it would only affect this one place.

It affects Joints the most. And you did say you were lifting Dumbells with that hand.

Of course I use the same weight for both arms. :D It's not like I only train my left arm. That'd be just weird.
