Since kabuto soled itachi, before izanami, he could do that again. plus itachi himself stated that izanami takes a long time to place and don't expect it to be used in the first 5 seconds. lastly kabuto does not like to play with his enemies as seen with itachi/sasuke. so not enough time to izanami him

counter that, plus don't count on totsuka blitz kabuto is too fast.
