Now I'm not trying to bash Kakashi (even though I dont like him) but the recent chapter got me thinking and someone else pointed this out, Is Kakashi relevant without Obito
In other words, can Kakashi exist as a standalone character without Obito or his influence. And my answer is I dont think so
Obito says it himself, Kakashi is nothing without him
What I'm getting at is that Kakashi's character depends on Obito
Without Obito, Kakashi would not exist
Even when complimenting Naruto, he has to bring up Obito
When comparing Sasuke to himself, he has to bring up his past with Obito
On the flip side, Obito is a standalone character and can exist without Kakashi
He does not depend on Kakashi for development because he has so many other connections
As a result, Obito is relevant without Kakashi but Kakashi is not relevant without Obito
Let me give u another example
Hinata and Naruto
Naruto is a standalone character obviously b/c hes the main character
But wat about Hinata, can Hinata exist without Naruto. Is she a standalone character
The answer is no
Most of her character depends on Naruto
She is relevant because of Naruto
Not the other way around
Hinata needs Naruto to further her development
But Naruto doesnt need Hinata
Its even worse with the amount of powers characters have in this series
And this chapter points it out
Kakashi is only relevant because he is the copy cat ninja due to Obito's sharingan
Lets look at other characters
Naruto
Is he strong and relevant without Tailed Beasts, the answer is yes
He got SM
Wat about Sasuke
Take away his ems and ms, and u still got Hebi Sasuke, who can still beat over half the characters in this series
Wat about Obito
Take away his kamui
and he still has wood style, cqc shuriken, katon, yin-yang
Still strong
But wat about Kakashi
Can he be relevant without Obito's sharingan
The answer is so-so cause Kakashi is smart but he wont be strong
He would be a formidable opponent but nothing compared to the top tiers
Kishi could have changed all of that when he gave his origanal eye back
Finally, Kakashi can be his own character. Finally, he can follow in his father's footsteps
But Kishi said no
And thats the problem with Kakashi's character
Can he truly exist without Obito
