the only reason why obito lost to minato was because obito struck to soon, it wasnt because ftg was faster.

the speed it takes to go into kamui however is not instant

Kamui isn't. Kamui takes time to warp you into the dimension then time to warp out. the travel time is instant sure, but the entire execution isn't.
