Kakashi lacks the reflexes and reaction feats to react to 8th gate guys speed meaning that he isnt actiivating kamui before getting killed, night moth can also distort space, andd his Evening Elephant has more than enough DC to destroy his PS

Kakashi neg diff. He doesn't need reaction time. At a safe distance he can pull teleportation anytime, so he can activate intangibility and with intangibility during 5 minutes at a time, 8 gated Gai can't touch him(may die meantime), and he still has a flying Perfect Susanoo defense that could last at a time(second he can't use phasing and restart it later), and teleportation will allow him to be safe from any Gai's attacks the time he dies from 8 gates drawbacks

His Susanoo has the cutting power to slash mountains, far greater striking force than Gai's attacks. If we give Madara's defensive feats, he tanks everything Gai throws. Kakashi literally curb-stomps him so badly.

Still, there is still drawbacks from the technique due to the intense pain on the body and it can give opportunity to Kakashi to snipe him with Kamui at that point. He showed to be capable to move faster than Sasuke's teleportation, so he could get out of the way anytime to find a better strategy and get him. He may even use clones as diversions. While remaining intangible for 5 minutes at a time and possessing a defense that could at least protect him against one attack, he is safe from getting destroyed defensively, and offensively, he has Kamui to snipe him any moment of struggle(due to 8 gates drawbacks) on Gai's part
