In the cases we've seen of Perfect Susanoo... there is:
Madara had two EMS, but unlocked the PS with the infusion of Ashura chakra in his body. He had Indra's chakra, and therefore Indra's chakra was not the requisite for PS and instead Indra's chakra seemed to be the trigger. However, the Rinnegan was unlocked so this was thought to be the reason for PS.
Sasuke had two EMS, but after Hagoromo gave him some of Ashuras chakra (him already being Indras reincarnation), he was able to unlock the Rinnegan as well as PS. He had Indras chakra, so yet again this series of information leads to the conclusion that when Indra and Ashura's chakra are combined, the Rinnegan and PS are unleashed. This lead to threads being made concluding that Rinnegan = PS.
However, we now have Kakashi. Kakashi throws most of these previous theories off the table and stomps on them. Kakashi did not contain Indra's chakra, but he did contain Ashura's chakra from when Naruto healed Kakashi's eye. He did not, however, have any of Indra's chakra, but he did have the Mangekyou Sharingans from Obito.
This unbalances the information in several ways.
1. The Sharingan doesn't have to be Eternal to upgrade to the Rinnegan, but it can be eternal.
2. One does not have to contain Indra's chakra to use PS, but they would to use the Rinnegan. This is why Kakashi did not unlock the Rinnegan unlike Sasuke and Madara.
Danzo had many Sharingans implanted into him, as well as having a (admittedly weaker) form of Indra's chakra (via Hashirama's cells). Theoretically, this means that it was possible for Danzo to unlock the PS. This however would have dramatically removed any surprise of Kakashi's PS, and it would have also meant that Danzo would have stomped Sasuke...
The same goes for Obito because he also had Hashirama's cells...
Were Kakashi and Obito transmigrants of Ashura and Indra respectively? Is Indra's chakra the key to PS? Plot no jutsu? Thread no jutsu? Discuss.
