They are both needed in order to ensure the defeat of Kaguya. Now this next one is a speculation, but the reason that Sasuke is able to damage Madara without Senjutsu is because Dark = Destruction which is the opposite to Naruto's Light = Creation. I short It allows Sasuke to **** gods up.

Aight you lost me there a bit. I'll go with the Dark Chidori from part 1, Yes it was senjutsu infused via the curse mark but think of it as Sasuke's dark side chidori. Now for the Dark Release Chidori it's both Dark+Lightning similar to Narutos Lava+Wind technique. It's just simple infusion.

Naruto is able to breath life into things with his Yang Seal, following that logic, Sasuke should be able to create shapes from his imagination. (I assume he is able to manipulate any nature release as well as the shape of it to a very high level.)
