Nothing said Asura killed Indra, however it stated he won the war though.

It wasn't exactly stated who won. The sage made Asura the successor because he realized cooperation was key. And he felt that was the better quality, not because he won a fight. I still believe they both died in battle against each other.

ashura won THE RACE OF BEING NINSHUU LEADER. he won the tittle of 'leader of ninshuu' against indra, that was what BZ was referring to. but ashura didnt win the fight. manga states they both died.

That proves that they both eventually died, not that they killed each other in battle.
