i've been searching a bit on google and i found this.

If you're talking about the ep that came on last saturday, he said "Genjutsu doesn't work on bugs". Also, in tonight's episode he stated the reason Genjutsu doesn't work on them is because they have terribly basic sensory systems. Things like pain and fear don't register with them, as their brains can't comprehend such complex concepts.

Meaning, you can't manipulate his bugs into doing things via Genjutsu. The Aburame however, is fair game because they are afterall, still human. They experience fear, pain, fatigue...just like everyone else.

so if the bugs only help shino when told to, and shino is under a genjutsu, how do the bugs help shino exactly?

i think your argument is that (and correct me if im wrong) the bugs which sap shino's chakra would release them from a genjutsu because his chakra is being sapped.

why didnt the sharingan break sasuke out of itachi's genjutsu? its the same logic. the sharingan is always consuming chakra so sasuke shouldve automatically broken out of itachi's gen right? but it doesnt work that way
