No, that half of his body got crushed by a rock. Which is why it was repaired by slapping a white zetsu on him. Regardless of putting the zetsu on his body, The majority of his right side of his body was entirely crushed including a portion of his head. He should have died instantly, and after that rock got taken off of him (though he should have been dead just by having that boulder crush him) he should have bled out instantly. In no logical situation is survival, without bringing him back to life from death actually make any logical sense because he should have died before white zetsu was fused with him.
