P.S.: Yes, Sasuke failed at doing because he wasnt like Itachi. He has no brains, just raw power.
Most of the times btw Itachi died because he protected the vulnerable/powerless Sasuke instead of himself.
Its true Itachi got sliced in half once, but we could assume he let his guard down because he was edo.
all the other times(2-3 more times) he died because he chose to cover sasuke in his susanoo instead.
Itachi did all the work anyway. In the Izanami, Sasuke didnt have a role besides Itachi telling him "stay behind me".

What you just said makes no sense. Itachi made a Crow Clone which jumped at Kabuto, all the crows started flying away after Kabuto stabbed it, and Itachi attacked Kabuto during the confusion. It's not rocket science.
1. Itachi could had been Kabuto's target during White Rage, instead Sasuke was there and Kabuto wanted an easy opportunity to take his body. Itachi being an Edo Tensei made him more numb to pain and let him resist White Rage enough to protect Sasuke.
2. Itachi was the target of Muki Tensei. Itachi was already aware that Kabuto wasn't going to seriously harm Sasuke because he wants Sasuke's body.
3. Kabuto tried to put a new fuda in Itachi while he was impaled, but Sasuke protected Itachi.
4. Kabuto caught both the Uchiha bros. in a genjutsu and they needed each others' help to escape.
5. Kabuto sliced Itachi in half.
6. Sasuke protected Itachi again while he was regenerating so Kabuto couldn't take control of him again.
Sasuke was instrumental in setting up and completing Izanami.
First you say Itachi is smarter than Sasuke, then you turn around and say that Itachi was purposely being stupid to justify getting solo'd.
