Another Obito's kamui thread

We saw Obito get into Kamui's dimension at the moment of his reveal, because he was completely covered by the bijoudama, so his whole body went to Kamui dimension, where he met Naruto and cracked his mask open.

So why didn't Obito just go through the water, when he was falling down through the exploding seals that Konan put in the sea? His body would have gone to Kamui world, and he wouldn't have needed to use the spiral teleportation thing, so he wouldn't have needed to materialize himself.

His intangibility only lastes up to 5 minutes i thought.

If he phased the bombs would have been sucked it so he could not do it.

He can stay intangible for only 5 minutes and then he becomes solid. But Konan set the paper bombs so that they can explode for about 10 minutes.

He didn't need to stay phased 5 minutes, just get into the water while phased, so his whole body goes kamuied, then walk somewhere else once he's already in kamui world, then teleport back.

He didn't need to "teleport" (not phase) the bombs, because he automatically phases when he goes through things, such bijoudamas or water xD.

He was falling so he could not change direction like you are saying.... Even if he phased to his dimension the bombs would have been sucked in and killed him. Being intangible does not mean he can float around the place.

He did do that, for 5 mins. Then it wore off and he was forced to use Izanagi

Actually at 1st he did try to teleport away but the bombs sticked to him while he was jumping to kamui dimension, so his only option was to stay intangible and then use izanagi.
