According to Tobirama the Uchiha were the ones that cherished love more than anyone. Yet, due to pain and suffering the felt the need to seal this love.. etc, etc...
So a Sharinngan is acquired through suffering.
Sasuke experienced the massacre of his whole clan by his own brother and got the first seats at his parents execution.
The question is: why didn't he obtain some overpowered sharingan technique because, according to manga facts; the bigger the suffering the bigger the change and power... etc.
I don't think there is history of other suffering greater than what Sasuke felt.
