the main character gets a low to no screen time in each and every episode?

like he/ she shows up for two minutes in an episode and then it shifts back to some random character and he never appears for the rest of the episode

is there an anime like that? the story not focusing on the main character alot

Naruto Shippuden fits the bill; we always get very few minutes of Sasuke before the focus is shifted to somebody else.

Are you looking for an anime with multiple Main characters

The closest thing would probably be Baccano! but it doesn't have a definitive main character. Some say the little girl reading the story if that's how you see it then Baccano! would fit the description. Durarara!! also I suppose.

No series or plot anywhere does that all the way through, otherwise they're not the main character, like those above said. I'd recommend Baccano! and Durarara!! (though the main character's kinda hard to determine, anyways). I'd also throw in Fate/Zero, which only starts putting more focus on its main character in the second half.


EDIT: Actually, on second thought, Mushishi might be what you're looking for, too. The episodes are all completely standalone save for the main character, but each episode normally focuses more on the characters for that episode rather than him.

Kuroko No Basket. In this anime the main character is kuroko but he doent stand out much because of his lack of presence. Its a good anime, check it out. And by the way, its a basket ball anime.

No series really does that, there are some anime that might work out though.

Durarara!! - This thing has like 8 main characters and it switches between them every single episodes until they all come together in the end.
Baccano! - Same as Durarara!!
