I'm on episode 25 of One Piece, and Luffy beat Buggy once already, and he beat Kuro, and Zoro let them get away. Why doesn't Zoro just be both so he can contribue to the crew financially? If he's worried about getting arrested if he turns in pirates, he can wear a disguise.

Meh, Maybe that's not his intention.
He just cares about Fulfilling his goal and helping Luffy become the Pirate King.

I was thinking maybe it's dishonorable to be a pirate and a bounty hunter at the same time in the OPverse.

He was never actually a bounty hunter, or at the very least, he didn't identify himself as one. He only turned in criminals when he needed money for supplies and food and shelter. Now that he has those things on the Sunny, there's no need.

Zoro is also an honorable person, evident by how he follows some of the bushido code and how he pretended that his fight with Ryuma never happened because the circumstances that led to the fight was shameful to the samurai's true strength. Now that he's a pirate, capturing other pirates and turning them into his enemy would be like saying "I'm depending on my enemy for something", which would hurt his honor.

Well the problem is..when a wanted man shows up to collect at a facility owned by the people with a bounty on him...its hard to not become a target.

Well, he doesn't care if he's a pirate hunter/bounty hunter or a pirate, as long as his dream of becoming the best swordsman in the world comes true. You'll see as you keep watching ^^

The only reason why Zoro became a pirate hunter in the first place was because he was homeless and he had to make money in order to eat and fix his swords (they broke very often). He doesn't need any money anymore now that he's with the SH's.

he only used to hunt pirates for a living.
After joining luffy, he did not need to hunt pirates for a living and he could focus on training and becoming stronger than ever.
