Why did Obito have to die? When I first realized he had died it didn't hit me that much, but the more I thought about it the more I realized how sad this really is. Obito has been a staple character of the series for the past two years, and his character has a lot of depth. He was a loner, a failure, rejected, and insane. He went crazy from loneliness and Rin dying. I'm sure many of us could relate to him in some way or another. I really liked the way his character turned around.

I just wish he could have stayed with us a little bit longer, or maybe even survived the war. The plot could have progressed without him dying right now, and I wanted to see Double Kamui in action.

He died because his character was no longer relevant. Obito served his purpose and actually lived a little longer than I thought he should have.

To the guy, bringing Itachi into this you need to stop it. I never liked Obito, I preferred him as Tobi.

what's up with all these 'RIP Obito was my hero' threads? The guy was probably the worse person in the manga (based on feats). Even in death, he is still responsible for genocide, homicide and infanticide. Idk if he deserves praise, but hey whatever.

There was so many different ways to kill him. This scene is just really unmemorable to me, and a character as important as Obito should have had a memorable death.

the dialogue hit me hard. just wish he coulda went full out and helped them fight first. even kakashi said his power was needed lol.
the symbolism and why he chose to is good. he chose his own way to die, going back to the way he was before he stopped believing in entrusting and dreams.
kishi didnt go easy on him by letting him survive. its more realistic that way.
its gonna look cool in the anime when he crumbles with sad music playing in the backround T.T
and rin saying it was ok that he couldnt keep his promise. hardcore feels!
