[Spoilers] Did Whitebeard live up to his hype?

Were you satisfied with his display of power? Did he meet you expectations, or surpass them? Did he live up to the hype of being a planet buster?

To be totally honest he didn't really do it for me. I expected him to at least stalemate with Akainu, but having half his face blown off and still fighting sufficed for that. It was impressive yeah but I still expected more. Wished he was more active in fighting and not just watching over everything.

Can't really call him weak though, he was way past his prime so.

Have you forgotten that in Marineford, Whitebeards quakes were felt around the world in different parts of the seas.

Imagine if Whitebeard did that same attack while in his prime and not terminally Ill, The world share the same fate as Namek.

Yeah like you said he's way past his prime and it was kind of obvious that he was going to get nerfed cause of him being sick/old. Personally, he did live up to them as he was able to effortlessly cause a huge tsunami with just a hand motion. Now I just want to see a flashback of him fighting in his prime. I wonder if he'd be able to stand a chance against DBZ characters during his prime or even Roger.

He did all thst and more.


Firstly: he's old as shit, and to the degree his body was already down to the point thst he had a breathing apparatus normally attatched.

Then, he literally survives being stabbed in the heart by Squardo's giant sword. Following this, he proceeds to march through a warzone, hole practically through the heart, and is still messing everything up.

After that, he is fighting even with Akainu...old, bleeding out, and with a giant hole in the chest. Only falling when his heart basically dies and he collapses. Akainu punches him in tbe chest. Melting his heart AMD likely part of his lungs.

Even then he continues fighting. And after all that and the death of Ace, goes on a blood rage with no heart, damage insides, half a face, and still blasts the strongest admiral into a gigantic crater like he's a joke all the sudden. He then takes stabs and gun shots from Impel Down's worst AND STILL lives long enough to say his final quote.

Then you hear just how many shots he took.



His ability to take damage and continue is LUDICROUS.

This is why I hate when you make threads or post. You complain about him somehow not proving his hype to you even though he almost defeated the marines while being stabbed, shot, and dying of a disease. You say he didn't live up to his prime then say he was way past his prime so how can you say you expect him to do more then say he was past his prime? He still kicked ass even with all those things stopping him from reaching Ace

Definitely lived up to his hype, idk how much you expected but I feel like he did more than enough. He was doing Akainu dirty, and every time akainu managed to damage him its like he wasn't phased. And people world over felt his earthquakes, what more could he do? Had it been a 1 v 1 you would see how op he was, but no he damn near single handedly took out the marines in their headquarters. That takes skill that I doubt we will see again for quite some time.

He surpassed my expectation..... He is without a doubt the greatest/Fav character for me.
- He Fought all the admirals and won.
- He Hammered the living Sh*t out of Blackberad (While on Deaths DOOR!!!!)
- He was old, sick and way past his prime yet the greatest threat to the world government/marines/admirals and pirates alike.
- His Way, His Way........ Touch my crew and your a dead man..... Just epic.... he started a war for a crew member
- Although old and dying nobody dared to cross him and/or face him in person...... and when they did it was a total F**kin War.
- He is also the only person other than Garp to match the Pirate King
- Although he was old and dying.... HE was still considered the STRONGEST/POWERFUL MAN IN THE WORLD.
- Even when he died he died like a BOSS..... While standing and never backing down or kneeling to anyone

HE lived up to his hype and created another....... that is the man named White Beard..... SHOW some RESPECT

Yes and no. He stood by and watched the fight go down for too long. But he was weak and old. We only saw a fraction of his power. He did what I at least expected.

It was said that he would've sunk Marineford if it wasn't for his family on it.

That would've been big trouble for the marines and a lot of DF users would drown in the middle of the ocean.

Giving the fact that his powers would greatly increase if he was by himself and also the massive amount of damage he took despite his illness, I would have to say that he really surpassed my expectations. Especially since he was able ro stalemate or even overpower some of the admirals effortlessly.

the guy was on life support and old as fu*k but still fought with 3 admirals/whole black bead crew and like a thousand marines. akainu only survived cause of plot shield other wise wb would have raped him.

It also means more than that.

Besides killing marines he was also destroying the symbol of justice in front of the eye of the world.

And Kuzan would've been able to save everyone, WB can still crack his ice easily and even he is an hammer if he would fall in.

After the little showdown with Akainu, he also was on his way falling to the center of the earth, he only was saved due to his fruit. If Marineford would sink they would be screwed, even if Kuzan can save some. Also they would be stuck in the middle of the ocean.
