1) they are madara fans so they want to make him as powerful as he can possibly seem.
2) their favorite character just got turned into a balloon fish and then into rabbit woman, they want to save face by making it seem like he's stronger than the one who murked him
3) A>B>C logic. Madara is a better juubi jin than Obito, so he by default has better manipulation over the orbs despite even mindless obito showed better manipulation than madara.
4) I hardly believe that they actually believe the second half of that. Madara is probably alive though. just look at how long it took kishi to kill off obito, he's not going to have madara go out in such an embarassing and insignificant way.
