I dont know if anyone noticed this yet but Kishi really does listen to his fans feedback especially things related to Obito and this chapter proves it.
Im sure u all know that Obito is the most polarizing character in the series.
In other words, he invokes different emotions from the Naruto fanbase
U have one extreme in which fans completely s*** on him by calling him trash, pedo, etc
and u have another extreme in which fans completely praise Obito by calling him the greatest of all time
In today's chapter, the hatred fans have for Obito is represented by Black Zetsu
As u see above, Black Zetsu trash talks Obito and the funny thing about this is that Obito accepts that criticism wholeheartedly. He knows what he did was wrong and u every right to hate his guts for it because he is not asking for forgiveness.
However, u also have to take in the consideration of the good that comes with Obito and that is represented by both Naruto and Rin
As u can see above, Naruto calls Obito the coolest guy and rightfully so because he is a man who shared the same dreams. Naruto understands all the bad Obito did but he wants to remember him as the good Obito because thats his true self.
Rin also knows what Obito did hence why she always looked after him but knows he tried his best to complete their promise to each other
Essentially what I'm getting at is that the backlash to Obito's character stems from Black Zetsu - the haters
and the praise Obito's character deserves stem from Naruto and Rin - the fans
In this case, both extremes are right. They have legitimate arguments made on how they feel about Obito.
This is why Obito is the best written character in this series. He is one of few characters, the others being Pain and Itachi who can bring these type of discussions.
Jiraiya - "The true measure of a shinobi is not how he lives, but how he dies."
