Yu Yu Hakusho or Hunter x Hunter

I'm bored so I wanted to make this thread.

If you've watched both, which one do you prefer and why? Or do you value both equally?

For me, I slightly value Hunter x Hunter a little bit more than Yu Yu Hakusho. I like hunter x hunter for it's overall complex story which made it's feel kind of like a seinen. Yu Yu Hakusho on the other hand isn't quite as complex as HxH but what I liked about it was that it had epic fights and had extremely complex villains such as sensui and toguro.

Ging is literally a Yusuke 2.0 but with brains. HxH 2011 anime only had 2 good arcs.

I agree with him. Both had amazing characters like Hiei and Kurapika. I cannot decide between them

Yu Yu ended too quick and could've been epic if Togashi made the last tournament arc longer. However, HxH is definitely the best manga out there now with the character development, plot twist, the size of the world looks like One Piece, and epic fights

Hunters exam was kinda meh for me. Heaven arena was good, Zoldyck was meh, Chimera was amazing, Greed island could of been amazing but the first half was so boring, Yorknew was amazing & Election arc is amazing (not finished being animated).

Yu yu hakusho is my favorite anime, hunter x hunter is my 4th favorite

I enjoy yu yu hakusho more for the gore and it's a lot funnier

Both are awesome I just like yu yu more

Hard to decide but I would choose HxH but both have similar characters like hiei is similar to killua I think you should still watch yu yu hakusho too

HxH is a tier above,not even taking into account the superb anime adaptation from Madhouse.

Agreed, YYH should have a remastered soundtrack with a few new additional ones & an animation quality equal to HxH's if they remake it.
