I remember watching Shaman King and playing Shaman King games as a kid, but i dont really remember any of the story, i kinda wanna watch it again but i was wondering if its too kid-ish/boring

anyone that has watched Shaman King while they were older wanna give me some insight

imo its a great manga. the dubbed anime has awesome soundtrack and the most epic intro ever, but they censored much
also note that manga and anime have partly very different stories. and like always the manga is for more gory/brutal and bloody than the anime

but overall i love it. its a solid 9/10 manga for me, and underrated by most people^^

it has an awesome story, great characters and developpment as well as many twists etc.
the battles are awesome too. though i must admit it kinda starts off slow

I watched it. But it was years ago. I read a little bit of the manga couple months ago. I think the story is about this guy named Yoh(who is can see ghosts and interact with them) who is a shaman and wants to be the shaman king. To become it he has to compete in like a tournament thing and battle other shamans.

I would wake up and watch the show, JUST for this opening as a kid =D

Honestly though, trying to watch the anime over again as an adult, it is not so good especially towards the later episodes, mainly due to censorship so it easily felt kid-ish and boring as you were saying.

Try it out, see if you like it again because everyone has different taste. I still love the early episodes though and think they are extremely great.

This thread was made for me 0_0 shaman king is a very excellent manga, things do happen a little differently in the manga and some of it can be kinda freaky but over all I would say its 8/10 wonderful and enjoyable. The anime was awesome as a kid, i couldnt watch it now though, it would be teribad in comparison
