I've recently been re-watching the original Naruto series and I was wondering if my fellow base members would agree with my rankings of the Part 1 Konoha 12.
1. Rock Lee
2. Naruto Uzumaki
3. Sasuke Uchiha
4. Neji Hyuga
5. Shino Aburame
6. Shikimaru Nara
7. Kiba Inuzuka
8. TenTen
9. Hinata Hyuga
10. Chouji Akimichi
11. Sakura Haruno
12. Ino Yamanaka
Alright, done, this took a good amount of effort so any input would be greatly appreciated, as always, thanks for reading!
(Side note: I actually completely forgot Tenten until I finished, so if it says "Konoha 11" anywhere, that's why XD)
Also, Shikimaru is my favorite character on this list, hopefully that helps stave off any thoughts of me being biased
1. Rock Lee
Rock Lee in my mind is the obvious candidate for the number one spot in this list. Lee is the only child Genin to ever be able to open the Fifth Inner Gate. This feat grants Lee power and speed that greatly surpass any other Leaf Genin at the time. It was assumed pre Lee vs. Gaara that Neji is the stronger of the two, but both Guy and Neji state otherwise during the fight.
2. Naruto Uzumaki
Naruto is easily one of the strongest Genin to ever emerge from Konoha. His mastery of several high ranking jutsu is proof of this (Shadow Clone Jutsu, Rasengan, Summoning Jutsu: Toad). The only other fit candidate for the number two spot is Sasuke Uchiha. The reason I placed Naruto above Sasuke in this list is because when the VoTE fight occurred Naruto was weakened and also kept from using his most powerful jutsu (Toad Summoning). Emotional stress could also be considered a factor, but there is no proof that it swayed Naruto to lose.
This placement is both controversial and highly debatable, if you disagree then just place Sasuke at the number two spot, their powers are so even that it doesn't make much of a difference.

3. Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke is no doubt an impressive Genin, also one of the strongest Genin ever emerge for Konaha. His above average skill and dexterity is easily enough to cover for his average strength (Physical strength, muscle mass ect...). Sasuke has a wide variety of Fire-style jutsu, an extremely dangerous and chakra costly element to use. Sasuke has shown above average tactical decisions (Notably vs Orochimaru) and bravery (Notably vs Gaara). No one below Sasuke has shown feats to match this spectacular shinobi.
4. Neji Hyuga
Neji is a genius even among the Hyuga. Mastery of the Gentle Fist style of Taijutsu to his degree is a rare and almost unheard of feat, even among the strongest of the main branch. Neji is a tactical but cocky ninja, occasionally underestimating potentially powerful opponents (Notably Naruto Uzumaki). Because of this sense of superiority his overall judgement may not be solid enough to defeat the shinobi listed above him, his overall skill and precision however makes Neji too strong an opponent to be defeated by anyone below him.
5. Shino Aburame
Shino is one of the most unknown and mysterious shinobi in Konoha. Shino has shown to be an excellent tactician(Notably vs Zaku) and fighter(Also against Zaku). Using his parasitic insects Shino can drain an opponent of their chakra while expending little to none of his own, Shino is a peculiar opponent and cannot be easily bested by anyone in the Konoha 12.
6. Shikimaru Nara
Shikimaru is a member of the Nara clan. Possesing his Shadow possesion jutsu and and IQ of over 200 there is no better tactician to be found in the Leaf's Genin (Or anywhere else for that matter). Shikimaru has never been a powerhouse by any means but has shown to be quite fast in short bursts(Notably vs Temari) and quite dexterous. The only reason Shikimaru is placed so low is because of his below average defense which causes him to get easily overwhelmed. Shikimaru takes his time, even in battle but in my opinion he is fit to be number 6 in this list.
7. Kiba Inuzuka
Kiba is an overall powerful opponent. He has a nose that can smell 1,000 times more proficiently than the human nose, which gives great potential to a calm Kiba. Unfortunately Kiba is very headstrong and has a lot of trouble staying calm, this is his main downfall, altough he has shown to be quite the intelligent fighter when up against the Sound 4 member. Kiba is overall a fast but fragile powerhouse, he can be easily outsmarted and manipulated in battle.
8. TenTen
TenTen is a master when it comes to ninja tools. She has shown good speed and perfect aim with ninja tools, because of this however she has a sense of arrogance. This is shown vs Temari when she couldn't believe she actually missed her target, this panicked her into showing all of abilities too fast, ultimatly leading to her downside.
In my opinion any low level genjutsu would be enough to defeat this kunoichi.

9. Hinata Hyuga
Hinata is a member of the famed Hyuga clan, along with Neji she also possesses the Byakugan, but is notably less proficient when using it than her cousin. Even though she is not the bravest of shinobi she does not give up easily, which means that Hinata easily beats opponents with low stamina reserves, this along with the fact that she uses the Gentle Fist technique ensures that low level ninja will have a difficult time taking down this kunoichi.
10. Chouji Akimichi
Chouji has shown to be a difficult opponent to best because of his lineage. Being able to convert calories into chakra grant's this Genin with impressive chakra reserves. Unfortunately almost all of Chouji's techniques require large amounts of chakra. Chouji is also very headstrong, and can be a coward unless provoked. Chouji cannot hold his ground against very many of the Konoha 11.
11. Sakura Haruno
Sakura is shown with slightly above average strength (due to a ridiculously precise chakra control)and above average intellect. She has shown to be a proficient tactician in real combat (Notably vs Sound Genin) but lacks jutsu variety and overall stamina to be an effective ninja in real combat. Sakura does not help during big fights due to believing that she'll just get in the way, some may call this placement generous but I think it's appropriate.
12. Ino Yamanaka
Ino is the only member of Konoha 12 that is less poweful than Sakura. Ino shows less talent in almost every aspect when compared with Sakura, the only real difference is her clan's unique jutsu, but its inaccuracy just leaves her an open target.
