Exactly the Damage has been done he just can't go like nothing happened i agree he might help in getting of the problems in the world at the cost of his life after all he did revive hundreds of dead shinobi and was responsible for the deaths of thousands. Quite sad when you look at it Obito wanted to return to the leaf and Kabuto wants to go back to his family.
