Inspired by King Hashirama's thread I got the thinking of Kakashi's character. His character leaves no excuses for characters who had a hard past validating their decisions. He had just as much if not the most reason to go insane, go rogue, join the akatsuki.
When he was just a kid his father was ridiculed and disgraced leading to his suicide because of the village.
Being at a young age he quickly became a jounin and to be sent on important missions and living his childhood on a battlefield. Then when he finally developed feelings for his comrades his friend Obito dies saving him charging him with his eye and protecting rin. Not only does he not protect Rin as per his promise but he is the one who kills her and that really effected him for awhile if it doesnt still. He has to sit by on the sidelines while his sensei dies protecting the village. He lives the rest of his life apologizing and living with a great burden of regret with the constant reminder of his failures (sharingan in his eye). He teaches his dead sensei's son (got be somwhat emotional) and then teaches Sasuke to care about friendship through chidori only for him to use his power to destroy his teamates. He watches team 7 descend into chaos unable to stop it and even though it probably couldnt be stopped either way he carries the guilt of not bringing them up as their sensei. After living through that guilt of Obito's death he discovers Obito is one of the main bad guys and has been living this entire time but yet at the same time Kakashi has to kill him just after learning he is alive. Now he has to watch Obito die again while he is powerless to help him.
Mainly for the events before now and in his younger days he probably had the best resume for an akatsuki member or missing nin. He has seen things at a young age that adult ninja might not have even been able to manage, yet he did not turn on anyone, go crazy or mad like others in similar positions. His character showed it was possible to manage and live through the guilt and sadness leaving no excuses for other characters. He had one of the most tragic backstories in the manga. It makes you wonder how did he not follow the path that others did.
