if there was a hole in it the light would get in meaning everyone would get caught in it except sasuke even if he can repair the hole.

I don't think he could open two kamuis at the same time because once you close it off from the source it will disappear like any light

Or maybe because he doesn't actually have the eye implanted in him. Obito was dead (or near-dead), I don't think he was able to get Obito to use Kamui. Plus, he was puzzled that Sasuke's Rinnegan allowed Susanoo to block IT's light.
