The Uchiha planned a Coup Detat (leading to their destruction and sparking Sasuke's hatred)
Itachi (an Uchiha) killed the Uchiha (same as above, but manipulating Sasuke's anger even further)
Sasuke (an Uchiha) was manipulated via his anger and caused damage
The whole Senju/Uchiha rivalry started with the elder brother's (an Uchiha) hatred

Obito nearly killed the Naruto series. Obito's reveal didn't make sense even when explained it doesn't make logical sense. His motives for starting the great 4th ninja war, starting the akatsuki, aiding in the Uchiha massacre and ending the lives of countless people was because his childhood crush died. The entire time he was on the battle field fighting Naruto, he would always try to counter act Narutos, "friendship talk no jutsu", which made Naruto say even more talk no jutsu BS and Obito was left contemplating. We dont need this in a final villain.

When Obito betrayed Madara and became the Juubi jinchuriki, I thought to myself, "is this guy going to remain the final villain? Can I handle all the rin flashbacks and the talk no jutsu?". Reading Naruto chapters became stressful rather than entertaining, having to see a more irrelevant character than any of the K11 (Rin) every single other panel, and Obito saying emo shit, like, "I am nobody".

Obito finally lost to Naruto, not via combat, but by talk no jutsu (what a surprise), and Madara took title is final villain again, I thought were finally done with having to see Obito anymore, no more Rin , no more talk no jutsu, no more shitty motives, no more shitty personality, and no more flash backs

, but Kishimoto decided to keep the walking plot hole alive, living through Bijuu extraction and shinra tensei..FML

Its personal preference, but overall, the war arc and Obito are well received in Japan

Obito's a decent character. The problem is that he's literally a walking plot hole. How the hell was his right eye not crushed by that boulder?(when the rest of his body was-the eye isn't the most durable part of the body) Don't get me started on all the times he should have died, but Kishi somehow brought him back. He was like a cat with 10 lives. But he was a decent character nevertheless.

The series was/is far from the need of being saved. Obito Uchiha was/is without a doubt one of the finest key characters of Naruto, having played a huge role on many occasions and of course, his death is undoubtedly one of those major moments, which we all will remember, but it's a little too much to address his death as the indicator of the end of the series.
