whoever watched death note would know he is , i just finished death note my self and i found it very intriguing. So my question is this, what do you think of light yagami was he the protagonist ? or antagonist of the series was he good or evil ? and which character from other anime's remind you most of him

He started off as the protagonist but eventually he became the antagonist. Basically Light was the antagonist of the series.

"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"
This quote fits Light well.

Also, Lelouch from Code Geass reminds me of Light.

Antagonist. Psychopath. Deserved to die. Lelouch reminds me of him as well. But Lelouch is better.

antagonist maybe psychopath alright i agree but i don't think he deserved to die the way he did in the end as for lelouch i saw the guy from code gaess i read about him he doesn't seem to be as cold hearted and devious as light tho

yeah i suppose he did start out well but in the end power corrupted him even tho till the end i was still rooting for him to survive somehow oh well

as for lelouch i dont think he is as devious and cunning as light well not from what i read anyways

Light, to me, was a protagonist who became an antagonist near the end of the series with shades of being an antagonist throughout the series.

He was and is the protagonist. And it not always said that the protagonist has to be good. He might be even against the law itself, but he is called protagonist since we learn the story and create the basic view of it by his eyes. And I think he would have won against everyone. He made only some small mistakes, and he was unlucky. The mistakes were Misa and Mikami

He wants to make the world better >>> then he wants to be god out of boredom and sacrifices even his dad. Dat character development.

meh everyone got his view on the subject him being a villian or a savior is all a matter of perspective, lelouch and code geass everytime i try to get my self to watch i end up failing i read what the plot is about and it didn't seem that interesting

to him his dad was another peice of the puzzle for a better future so were all the innocent people he killed to him its all means to an end

i would like to think of him as that as well and that's why i kinda liked the anime so much because we got to see a different view of point through out , i also believe he would have won against anyone specially near if it wasn't for Mikami who acted on his own behind light's back which led to his down fall indeed he was very unlucky

a lot think so as well he was always walking a fine line between both sides

The proper term for Light is anti-hero. He has qualities of a protagonist but also lacks qualities of a protagonist.

Lelouch is Light's carbon-copy but in a different world.

sorry mate gotta disagree light did out maneuver L

Light had all the advantage though. L is the one who put Light on blast and he's the the reason why Near and Mello were able to catch Light. L was ready to die in order to catch Kira...No matter how you think about it, in the end L was the true winner.

pro·tag·o·nist:
\prō-ˈta-gə-nist\noun
1 a : the principal character in a literary work (as a drama or story)
b : a leading actor, character, or participant in a literary work or real event
2 : a leader, proponent, or supporter of a cause : champion

So Light is the protagonist. Was he good or evil? Only a foolish and naive person wouldn't think about it/give it a second thought, but i think that he was doing good, he was ridding the world of criminals--not criminals who have done petty crimes but murders and such.
I cant think of any other anime character that he reminds me of, maybe Sasuke (current-manga), Tobi/Madara, they have/are doing things for the "better".
