Anyone go to university in the UK?

If so, have you guys joined any anime societies? Do you guys like it?

I'm joining UCL in September and was maybe thinking about joining their anime society.

Also is anime/manga pretty popular in the UK? I live in Switzerland, so it's barely mentioned here well apart from my friends who also know about it.

I go to UWE and there is a type of Anime society run by Asians but I'm not part of it, just couldn't be arsed to be honest. As for manga/anime popularity in the UK it is not that well known, only certain group of people are fans. Most young adults know what it is but they don't just follow it.

Depends on your interests really, so just join whatever you think you'll enjoy most. Look up a list of societies they have and go there with an idea of what you plan on doing.

Fans of anime are usually mocked, it's not very cool to be "out and proud".

As I say though, even amongst the more popular echelons, there are fans of Naruto. I've turned out Uni for the past two years but I may still go, London Uni has accepted me twice before.

Yeah I know a few people who mainly follow Naruto and other mainstream animes. Though we don't religiously talk about in real life like we do on here. If you wanna join UCL's anime society then go for it, don't let any stigma attached put you off from joining.

Yeah I wasn't planning on it. I think its a pretty good way to make some friends too, so i'll probably join.
