Kiba did successfully face one of the six paths of pain, with his Mom, nobody else out of the rookies got near one with the amount of success that Kiba had, except Naruto and maybe Choji in that he lived through the fight and completed his mission by Kakashi depleting his own chakra. So all in all, Kiba is pretty strong!
