Kaguya has the Sharingan and Byakugan, not the Rinnegan. When she gave birth to Hagoromo, her eye power weakened in power and became the Rinnegan, when Hagoromo gained kids of his own, his eye power weakened again and became the regular Sharingan. (Hagoromo stated that his eyes were the Rinnegan and that Kaguya's was the Sharingan. This also means that Sasuke holds the Sharingan, not the Rinnegan.) |
The 3rd Eye most likely has access to all the Rinnegan abilities as well. (Seeing how the Rinnegan originated from the said eye.) |
Kaguya and Sasuke has both shown the ability to teleport and transport between dimensions. (This is most likely the power of the 6 Tomoe Sharingan.) The 9 Tomoe Sharingan can cast the Mugen Tsukuyomi, this is probably unique to this eye alone. The Rinnegan originates from the Sharingan, meaning that the power had to come from a place. (The Rinnegan is a mutation however.) Also, simply because neither Sasuke nor Kaguya has used the paths doesn't mean they can't. Madara never used all of the paths, but he should be able to do use them if he wanted. |
When did he state that? Hagoromo said Sharingan, Madara said Rinnegan. Sakura said Rinnegan because she has no knowledge of the original Sharingan. (Neither does Madara.) Sasuke never referred to his own eye as the Rinnegan, yet he shows to have great knowledge of his own eye. Hagoromo is the person who holds the most knowledge of both era's. (Meaning he has the highest logical chance of being correct.) |
His son got a weaker version of the original Sharingan. (Lacking the tomoes.) The Rinnegan was created when Kaguya gave birth, the original Sharingan devolved into the Rinnegan, then later into the Sharingan again. (Technically speaking, they are all Sharingans, same as the Mangekyou is still a Sharingan.) |
