This is a perfect setup for Orochimaru to be Final Villain so he can tell Naruto what happened. I think that Orochimaru kidnapped some for experimentation and killed the rest. Why not? Orochimaru is about 60 years old and Kushina (the last of the Uzumaki),is around her mid 40s. Orochimaru left the village in his 20s so some years after he left the village ,he went to go get some forbidden jutsu and see how the Uzumaki body works. Kushina being the last of her kind (know at the time) could be been a survivor and was captured , village by village since she was a rare find. Orochimaru did it.

Orochimaru is not 60, he Tsunade and Jman are all the same age, so hes about 53.

When orochimaru left the leaf village, Kushina and Minato were both adults because minato was chosen as hokage after orochimaru and jiraiya, theoretically oro was still in the village at that time. So he couldn't have destroyed the uzumaki village.
