But Naruto has to return the natural energy once the SM is over and the beasts also returned to be free once were removed from their host.

So what happens to chakra when people die then? They obviously don't keep it forever...hence borrowed.

The KKG is not given back, you cannot borrow it. (An exception could be Kakashi with the eye)

Narutos original skillset is pretty limited. However he makes up for it in many ways.

I wouldnt count his sage mode as 'borrowed'. Not all shinobi are able to master sage mode. and if that were the case, then it would also discount Jiraiya, Hashirama, Orochimaru, Kabuto, and Minato.

I think it is fair since he cannot use them by himself.

It is like you can have a friend help you make a special move and then you can be called versatile, while you do not have the move in your own arsenal.

But everything he uses is of his own. His chakra is intertwined with Kurama's and the nature chakra he uses. If he uses it all, he suffers. It's not like someone else is fighting his battles for him when he uses these modes.
