Edit: It's a theoretical theory lol
So I was typing a thread about Hamura, but I got really far off-topic and made this (which also ended up diverging pretty badly)
Even though connections between Naruto and Hagoromo have been made since before we knew the latter's name, they aren’t really similar, at least not in the way that Ashura and Naruto are. Hagoromo stated that Indra inherited his talent, something that Naruto definitely did not have. The only similarity I can think of stems from Hagoromo’s words to Sasuke about neglecting Indra. Hagoromo decided that he would share his power with both transmigrants this time, unlike what he did with his sons. Naruto is the same way, more peaceful than past Ashuras, and better able to cooperate with his Indra counterpart (which, if Hagoromo/Hamura turns out being the same as Ashura/Indra, would be another similarity).
Also, I’m pretty sure that Ninshuu has been seen/mentioned multiple times in the manga. First in Part 1 when Sasuke asked Naruto if he could read his mind, then not until much later, with the introduction of the fist bump thing as a means of communication. Naruto also brings it up again during his encounter with Sasuke after the Danzo fight. I also think that Madara’s constant talk of “showing your guts” indicates that part of what Black Zetsu revised had to do with Ninshuu. This makes even more sense when you consider that Hagoromo knew that Indras were generally pretty belligerent, as well as the connection between hatred and the Sharingan that has caused many Uchiha to lose their understanding of other people (Obito’s “I am no one” thing, Sasuke’s reign of terror before talking to edo Itachi, and the entire concept of IT).
However, if you think about it, all of the evil Uchiha characters were truly trying to create peace; their means of creating peace just came from more broken minds (the Uchiha are much more emotional than other clans, so their reactions to pain tend to be more extreme). The constant isolation of the Uchiha contributed heavily to this. Hagoromo favoring Ashura and neglecting Indra, Tobirama segregating the Uchiha into their little corner of the Leaf Village (as police, no less), and Danzo/Hiruzen deciding to kill off pretty much the entire clan all worsened the Uchiha curse and further disconnected them from other people. The Uchiha constantly losing turned the disconnection into bitterness/envy/hatred. Indra lost the war against Ashura, Madara always lost to Hashirama, Obito never even came close to Kakashi, and Sasuke grew up in the shadow of Itachi (and, to a lesser extent, Naruto).
Hagoromo actually made a grave mistake by choosing Ashura over Indra. If he had chosen Indra, the Curse of Hatred would have never been a problem, because Ashura wouldn’t have reacted the same way to that kind of neglect (I think). Hashirama recognized this, and wanted Madara to be the First Hokage, because Madara’s desire to protect his family was far stronger than Hashirama’s (and becoming Hokage makes everyone your family lol). Naruto kind of understands it too I think. He knew what Sasuke was feeling, and, unlike everyone else, realized that giving up on him would make it worse. This is why I think Sasuke is more likely to end up as Hokage tbh. Humility is one of the strongest traits of Ashuras, while arrogance is probably the most prevalent characteristic of Indras. Though it has been consistently been given to benign people (partially because of what I mentioned before), there is no bigger ego boost than the title of Hokage. Tobirama actually understood the Uchiha pretty well, giving them power within the village was a good idea (though perhaps the wrong kind of power, and he ****ed them up in a lot of other ways lol).
Wow I kind of drifted away from my topic a lot. Sorry :/
