One goes down 2 the other goes up by 4 it just doesn't sound right. And Gotenks? Do you think he's stronger than Goku in that arc? I admit I like his character more and he has cooler moves but stronger than Goku?

I mean, even though base/super saiyan Goten and Trunks are nowhere near Goku, I think the fusion amplified their powers more than we think. Plus they went SSJ3. And being a fusion, it just became overwhelmingly powerful. Just my opinion on it, Toriyama needed some way to battle base Super Buu without Goku.

I believe it never said that. Mystic Gohan was only strong enough to be the strongest non fused character. But Gotenks, Vegitto and fused Buu would beat easily Mystic Gohan.

Gotenks was much stronger than Goku. SSJ3 Goku was getting beaten up, and Vegeta stated that either Gotenks or Gohan would wipe the floor with Kid Buu. Kid Buu was never that strong, only more reckless. Gotenks also beated up Super Buu badly, and was toying with him. After Vegitto, Super Buu with Gohan and Gotenks, Gotenks is the strongest character, even much stronger than Mystic Gohan.

It's said at full power he can kill Kid Bu in an instant and that Kid Bu is stronger than Super Bu according to Kaio Shin. His body couldn't withstand it while alive though, but maybe later on his body managed to withstand it making his performance better in movies

But even if he was able to kill him instantly in full power, SSJ3 Gotenks already beat the shit out of Super Buu. Mystic Gohan did even worse. Super Buu > Kid Buu with full intent to murder, but Kid Buu would blow up a planet before the fight even started like in canon. That's also why Kaio Shin was feared of him.

Also add the fact that both Son Goten and Trunks claimed Ultimate Gohan was not much stronger than SSjin 3 Gotenks, who beated the shit out of Buu.

He was cocky, and that's why he Super Buu landed a few hits.

Also SSJ2 Vegeta in the movie has already surpassed SSJ3 Goku in the Buu arc.

No re-read again. Piccolo said Fat and Super Bu are equal in power, only that his slim body makes him better in a fight. Kaioshin said that Kid Bu became weaker by absorbing the southern Kaioshin(and thus becoming Fat Bu), so Kid Bu's power-level was above Fat/Super Bu according to Kaioshin

That's Fat Buu. Kid Buu > Fat Buu. Super Buu > Kid Buu > Fat Buu.
