I was doing some cycling couple of days ago and I got hit by a car. I didn't get hurt except for a little pain on my left tibia bone. I didn't get hurt much because he wasn't going fast at all. However, the front of my bike is crushed, I send it to a repair shop and they said it will cost 385$ to repair (this is fking bs since the bike itself didn't cost more than 200$, and only the front tire seems domaged).

So how did I get hit? The guy didn't see me despite the stop sign. Even after he hit me he was like ''I didn't see you''.
He offered me a ride back home with my broken bike in the car.

Depends on who's fault it is, but he doesn't have to.

If he ran the stop sign, then he is liable. His insurance should cover this. File a police report (the insurance company will require one), get his insurance info, and file a claim. You can also take him to small claims court. If the guy is smart he'll just reimburse you for the bike, as this isn't really worth filing a claim or going to small claims court over though.

In the future, ALWAYS get the person's license and insurance info (even if they say they don't want to go through insurance...you don't have to file a claim if you get the info, but this will cover you in case they dry to blow you off)...AND call the police so a report will be on record. The police record includes the officer's judgement of who is at fault and to what degree. Insurance companies factor this in when determining the amount at which to settle the claim.

His insurance covers that. You would also be able to press charges to have any medical and repair charges covered, assuming it was his fault which it sounds like it definitely was.

The police should have been involved in that. A. You needed to be checked out medically, and B. He is responsible.
