but yea AgK is sh!t for a horror genre, I read it and still am and its sh!t.

Not even gonna watch the anime.
Its not under horror as a genre. Its under action and science fantasy.

PlayStation > AgK

AgK is garbage. :p
I didn't know that was you until that comment.

Terrible comment though, we both know Playstations belong in toilets.

Look at this guy's avatar. You can tell he's a fanboy lmao.

Anyway I agree, it sucks. I was intrigued by some character designs and the overrall premise of the story but it turned out to be extremely lackluster.
Wait dude. Did you even read all 81 chapters?

I love this guy more and more haha

OT: Tokyo Ghoul is not better than AgK. As far from the Anime. We have actually had 0 characterization in Tokyo Ghoul and it was too fast paced.

AkG left out a lot of things than the manga so I say Tokyo Ghoul.

So I'm going to put in my two cents here about the manga and where it's at now. It starts off slow but most manga with this kind of genre typically do. They spend a great deal of time building the world and characters. I've noticed that one of the main problems you have with the manga is the main character and the story.

Spoilers, of course.

The main character begins as a pretty innocent college student that spends a lot of time reading and has a history of being bullied. Pretty generic. We get his past soon though and we learn that he's gone through a lot of family troubles and has picked up a lot of problems that his mother had as well. One of these problems is his indecisiveness and his gentle nature, his indecisiveness stemming from that nature of his. The story after this however can be best described by the quote he uses himself within the manga, "If for argument's sake you were to write a story about me, it would certainly be a tragedy." This quote holds a lot of power in the shaping of the story. The story has a lot to do with his identity and his incapability to decide whether he is a ghoul or a human, reaching back to his indecisiveness. He, however, can't decide this if he is still unsure of what a ghoul is and he begins an adventure to find out what ghouls are. Ghouls are powerful beings but they also hold many human emotions. Kaneki meets many ghouls that are far against the concept of eating humans and rather takes those who have committed suicide. They understand the problem with killing humans for food but they also understand they can't live without humanity. They have also found some homes within human society but are constantly hunted for. Even if they have done nothing wrong aside from eating the body of a person that was already dead. It walks a thin line for morality's sake and also puts our main character in a dilemma of morality.

As the story progresses, he is eventually tortured a great deal. The torturer uses methods that were used on him and they had the effect of causing the victim to gain attributes similar to the torturer and this does happen to Kaneki. He begins to pick up his torturer's ruthlessness and ability to kill easily. He also gains another attribute resulting from his torturer and that occurs when his torturer kills mother and daughter ghouls in front of him when he is unable to choose which should live. Even while being tortured he held onto a single shred of the gentle nature he had. After this, he was also ridiculed by some small section of his ghoul subconscious and is brought to a place of mind where he can form a strong resolve that takes away his gentle nature and he would have been able to pick which should survive, losing even more what he once was before. But despite all of the torture that he undergoes by the man and his subconscious, he still refuses to kill. He would only fight to protect those he cared for but he refused to kill. As if the only shred of his humanity and gentle nature was left to his enemies. After another scene, he is reunited with his friends and during one of the scenes, he is able to smile from a comment made from a close friend. It seemed to stem from the words she had said and he was able to make a genuine smile. It made it out to be as though he was gaining some of his humanity back from inhuman creatures. Were Ghouls really so inhuman?

There's a great depth to the character development but most of it takes place 60-70 chapters in. The pacing is slow but it really speeds up. Think of the first 50 or so chapters development for the group that he will eventually work with. It's a great psychological story when you look at what the mangaka is actually writing about. I'll post some pictures from the manga to show you some of the key scenes I discussed.

Even if it was horror, overall AgK is a better manga than TG in most categories. Stay mad.

Why do people feel the need to mention AgK in every Tokyo Ghoul thread..?

OT: Anyways, I read both of those mangas and I think AgK is a lot better. I still find Tokyo Ghoul enjoyable tho'. Not really a fan of most of the characters except for Ayato, Kaneki and Suzuya, but some arcs are still good. As for Kill la Kill; Never seen that one.

I dont read the manga of either AgK or Tokyo Ghoul , only the anime. Only two episodes have been released for both so far, and I think Tokyo Ghoul has more potential than AgK . I dislike the MC of AgK , he is a coward. But I try to enjoy it , even though NB has overrated the **** out of it. For me , TG > AgK.

I'm going to read the whole series just to see how this ends, but it's... kinda shitty.
Exactly how I feel about Naruto. It's a mediocre series at best and has a mediocre war (random powerups/villains). Not to mention it has some disappointing arcs and a terrible TS.

I can tolerate Naruto, because it's actually good. :p
