I just wanted to start a thread about a general discussion for Death Note

My other question is do you think that the ending was good or would you have rather have had Light or L win

I didnt really like the ending because of that idiot who had Lights notebook.
I sometimes wish the series ended with Light becoming a god of justice after he killed L. Although i still liked L a lot

It got a bit worse after L's death but I enjoyed it still.

There's actually an alternate ending where L wins against Light, thanks to Sachi for telling me about it.
It's called L: Change The World, it's a novel and a movie, but obviously the book covers more than the movie.

N and M weren't that bad at all.
Besides, we also got to see Light's dad die against M and that was terrific.

I think it was a solid, good , awesome ending. L was a more interesting character and is the meat of the series, but seeing Light beat L was a huge moment. That could've ended it, but him going on and watching Light be successful only to fall to N and M, two completely different styles, was pretty interesting. Light dying is my favorite outcome, as well as the little hint of him maybe being a Shinigami in a special scene or episode or something. Icing on the already awesome cake. I liked it, yeah. Solid, solid ending.

The ending was ass, It should have ended with L's death followed by the scene where the narrator talks about the world bowing to Kira's will and shit.......Throughout the entire series I wanted to see Light achieve his dream world and having it taken away on the last ep was horseshit imo.

Id rather have the ending we got over L winning tho, His death was just wayyy to much of a awesome moment for me, it was so unexpected.

still, amazing series 10/10.

That is actually my opinion because I hate N and M. They tried to be L posers but nobody can replicate L. And i also hated that idiot that Light gave his notebook to.

The only L poser is actually N.
M wanted to be better than L as a challenger, whereas N wanted to be better than L as a successor.

The only reason why M and N also have their quirks like L does is because they both have a social handicap, just like Matt.
They never even knew how L looked like, or how he acted in person.
All the children at Whammy's house only got to ask L questions and that was without video, and N and M didn't ask a single question.

But hey, I can't stop you from hating N, M or Mikami.
For me, they were well written characters, whether I hate them or not.

Just like Suzaku from Code Geass, I hate him with all my heart but he's a good character.
