Why do people like parings so much

I understand that there are fans for this type of stuff, but a lot of discussions and thoughts are mainly invested in parings.


For instance, the last page with Sakura and Sasuke are mostly what people are talking about


And people are basing their ratings and reviews on that, which is why this chapter is well received even if ur not a fan of the paring stuff.


And there is a bit of a double standard cause I remember when Rin appeared in so many chapters ago and interacted with Obito, a lot of people disliked that and hated Kishi for putting that stuff in


Idk, to me parings are a waste if the characters are not well-written


Example- I can give two cents on NaruHina, two of the worst characters in this series

There are a lot of fans who want to see the guy get the girl or vise versa. I am one of those people, but as you said, only when the characters are well written.

The Pairings in the Naruto series don't really interest me all that much because the characters don't seem to react to anything of the sort.

Look at the whole NaruHina thing. The lady confesses her love for Naruto and is even prepared to die for him and he doesn't even acknowledge or bring up that topic at any point. Like it didn't even happen XD

Pairings are made out of love. Hence people love this show so they go beyond the love they have for this show. Leading to them supporting pairings. The only show I really supported pairings for is Fairy Tail. That's only because that show made me care for them. Where as a show like Naruto rarely has any romance. It still bothers me to know how the old people like Tsunade and Jiraiya never got married to someone. In fact guys like Kakashi and Gai should be married as well. Yet out of them all, that guy that got officially married died out in Asuma. Seems like he is the only one who grew up out of the bunch.
