So I want to start it but I'm a little confused about the chronological order of the events. FMA has cannon episodes while FMAB is full of cannon. So, to have I complete experience should I watch the canon of FMA and then the whole FMAB? Also, is the latter an exact sequel of FMA or is there some kind of re-introduction since it differs as series?

It's not a continuation no. Think of it like a remake that's closer to the manga no one reads.
